MNDR is basically fantastic
Last weekend we were invited to the Creators Project party, and a whole bunch of artists were there, including Mark Ronson who performed a few songs.
Among the members of his new band is the lovely MNDR.
We don’t know why MNDR, aka Amanda Walker, is calling herself MNDR and we’re not even sure we want to know. All we know is that she’s got some great tunes, and she seems to be outrageously cool (and we know a thing or two about being cool, you see). You can notably see her in Ronson’s Bang Bang Bang video.
BUY IT here, MNDR might give you a kiss.

And she DID buy it! Love the string bits and voices over the hiphop beats and halleluyah start before the guitar piece, got trap in her web of musical influences, but was she really influenced by anything at all? Everything seems to have emerged from a basic fondness for rhythms and sounds that make you wanna shake everything in your lonely flat in the outskirts of Paris! This concept album really is a jem! ( coming from a fan of Gibson-sounding Interpol… it means a lot!) Thanks for recommending it to me Dear Albion.
